The paintings in this collection
have been deliberately created as interior mood pieces. Creative hybrids of abstract, impressionistic and figurative techniques
combined to create a positive ambience in your home. Many of these paintings incorporate feathers and foliage that Yuri has
gathered whilst walking around the beautiful countryside of Somerset, England, where he lives. Each leaf or feather is coated
with acrylic paint, many times, before being embedded into a textured scheme.
Surrounding yourself with the right artwork
for you creates your own individual psychological environment. This personal environment affects your inner psyche from the
moment that you wake up (how does your bedroom make you feel?) until the end of your day. Your state of mind is constantly
manipulated by the world you live in.
How art affects your home and emotional wellbeing.
Art
isn’t just pretty pictures. Living in an environment that lifts up your spirits and stimulates your mind and emotional
self is very different to living in a confused, or drab, environment that doesn’t inspire you. The most important environment for the wellbeing
of your everyday psychology is your own home. Art helps to create the ambience of your home. We’ve all heard the phrase
‘Home is where the heart is’, well, art helps to give your heart a home it is happy and contented living in. If
you have any pictures or ornaments that annoy or niggle you, get rid of them. Sell them; give them to friends or your local
charity shop. Only surround yourself with things that make you feel good. Your home should be an expression of your positive
and wholesome self.
The psychology of colours; energetic reds, wholesome greens, calming blues and all the comforting colours
of autumn, have a very powerful effect upon your mind. Colour appeals to the intuitive and subconscious mind rather than the
practical mundane self ~ which needs all the help it can get to keep the stresses of life at bay. Good art creates ambience and ambience is a feeling.
Gathering the right art for your home is very important. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are no rules as to what
is good art or bad art. What matters is that it feels right to you and that it enhances your feeling of inner wellbeing. The
art you choose will, in time, teach you a lot about yourself.
