Fine Art... I studied illustration at Falmouth School
of Art & Design and I also studied Art History. With that said I am still at a loss as to what is meant by the term 'Fine
Art'; presumably the opposite to 'un-fine art' whatever that may be. There is a lot of 'Fine art' in the world suitable for
nothing but kindling for garden bonfires, or bedding for Elephants. I saw a lot of potentially great artists walk out of art
school because they refused to conform to what was expected of them by tutors who favoured modern 'Fine Art' be it expressionistic
abstract, minimilistic cubism or Dada...Whatever. the fact remains that so called 'Modern Art' is now 50 years old hat! With
that rant over with I try to paint as 'Fine as I can', to me, this is 'Fine Art'.
